Dodd: Not Interested In CNS Party Chairmanship
State rep will focus on House campaign instead
LORENZI, CAR--Carova State Sen. Tyler Dodd (CNS) made it clear today he has no intentions of serving as chairman of the Conservative Party. His announcement comes amid growing encouragement from fellow conservatives to take the party's top post.
Speaking to the Lorenzi Hill newspaper today, Dodd said he was 'absolutely not interested' in serving as chairman of the party.
"I am fully and most certainly not interested in the chairmanship. I don't know how to make that more clear," he said.
Dodd has not, as of yet, officially been offered the job, according to one of his campaign aides, who requested anonimity talking about their boss. Another source close with Conservative Party leadership confirmed that for GNN News.
But his name has frequently been mentioned as a possible replacement for out-going Chairman, former delegate Bob Viacrosa (C-CEA).
"I think he would be well-qualified and a great leader for our party," Dlg. Dale Fulbright (C-ARA) told Mavocke's Capitol newspaper. "But his qualifications don't matter if he's not interested in the position."
If he were to be selected as the party's chairman, the 28-year-old Carova state legislator would become the youngest CNS party chairman ever.
But Dodd insists he's not planning on accepting the position. Instead, his main focus right now is winning the nomination for one of the vacant House seats in Carova.
"Sen. Dodd's primary focus right now is on his campaign for delegate. He feels that would be the best way for him to adequately serve the people of Carova on a national level," campaign spokeswoman Sara Kellerman said in a prepared statement.
An effort by GNN News to reach the Conservative Party national headquarters for comment proved unsuccessful.
