BREAKING NEWS
MAVOCKE--Treasury officials have confirmed an envelope containing a suspicious powder was found in the main office of the National Treasury Headquarters building in downtown Mavocke this afternoon.
According to Treasury spokeswoman Alissa Allencart, the envelope was discovered around 3:15 pm eastern time.
A worker noticed the envelope and immediately alerted supervisors, who contacted police.
The building was evacuated at approximately 3:20 pm. Police are on-scene and a hazardous materials unit is en route.
Many streets in the downtown core have been closed off. GNN will have continuing coverage of this breaking story.
